Class Reunion - 2012

Steve Rovell would like to have a meeting about our 40th reunion between Christmas and new year's if anybody is going to be around please let us know. Please forward this link to classmates if they are not on this list.

Steve has been asked by a number of people to target an October time frame. He is trying to keep it in Bellville as well. We have three places we can possible use. Let him know what you think.

If you have not received an email from Steve Rovell, write to me and I'll forward your info to him and we'll keep you up to date on the reunion.

Frank R. Carnevale, 57

Frank R. Carnevale, 57, of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and formerly of Belleville died on May 3, 2011 at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Fla.

Born in Newark, he was raised and Belleville and lived there before moving to Florida 30 years ago. He was a registered nurse at Martin Memorial for 25 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Frances Smith and Cali Carnevale and his three grandchildren. He also leaves his parents, Jerry and Rosemary (Nottage) Carnevale of Nutley, his brother Gary Carnevale and his sister, Marie Ferinde.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated the Mother Cabrini Chapel at Holy Family Church in Nutley on Saturday, June 4 at 11 a.m.

Meet the Class of 1962

Do to the wonder of modern scanning technology and the Internet, now we can travel in time to visit the BHS class of 62 - and make fun of their haircuts and names!

Not to mention keep track of how many of them became our teachers! Whew! Quite a few if you scan through the yearbook.

Belleville Sons Honor Roll - second edition

Belleville Sons Honor Roll, second edition
is now available in print or as a download.

Biographies of the men of Belleville, N.J., who died while in service. Remembering the men who paid for our freedom. These Belleville sons proved that freedom is not free. These sons, brothers, fathers, friends and uncles walked, played, worked and died for our little township. In the last century, 156 Belleville sons died while in service to their country.

The 174-page second edition updates information from the 106-page original printing, including more information on Belleville actions in the American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and peacetime casualties.

Hero Way and Hamilton Street

Sgt. William Hamilton was killed in action in Germany on April 2, 1945. He served with the 7th Army. Hamilton grew up in Newark but lived on Arthur Street for years before he entered the service in 1942.

His nephew and namesake was our classmate.
